## About

Breakly is an app blocker for iPhone designed for people who cannot stop scrolling at night. You set a forced break in advance while you're still thinking clearly, then Strict Mode locks your chosen distracting apps once the break starts. The break cannot be interrupted or disabled, removing the option to cave to late-night impulses.

You decide which apps to block and which to keep available through a whitelist for genuinely important contacts. Strict Mode uses iOS Screen Time controls to enforce the rule, so your tired self cannot simply turn it off like a reminder. The app gives you one Emergency Skip per day for truly urgent situations.

Breakly works for late-night scrolling, daytime focus breaks, and any moment when you need the phone to stop asking for attention. It's built on the idea that willpower depletes at night, so the rule itself needs to stay in place rather than asking you to choose again at midnight.

Most app blockers send reminders that still let you choose whether to keep the rule. Breakly locks apps once the break starts and makes the break uninterruptible, removing the final decision point when willpower is lowest. You set the rule while clear-headed, then the app enforces it without giving midnight-you another vote.

Problem
Late-night scrolling keeps eating entire nights despite knowing you should sleep. Reminders and app blockers still let you override them when tired, so willpower alone never wins against the algorithm.

Solution
Set a forced break in advance while thinking clearly. Strict Mode locks distracting apps once the break starts and cannot be interrupted, removing the easy way out when you're most likely to make excuses.
