## About

Confetti (YC F26) lets anybody design and build hardware projects using plain-English prompts.

Making hardware has always required layers of expertise: learning modeling software, sourcing compatible components, designing enclosures, wiring, firmware, and finding someone to manufacture it all. As a result, most of our ideas for physical things stay as just ideas. We believe that making things should be for everybody. With Confetti, it just takes one conversation to get started.

Confetti puts the whole process on one platform, driven by natural language:

CAD: generate and edit 3D designs from text or image prompts Electronics: automatic sourcing for compatible off-the-shelf parts, wiring, and firmware Manufacturing: get quotes and place orders to get parts sent straight to your doorstep Community: share, remix, and personalize builds from other makers for yourself

People are already using Confetti to build things like a portable dynamic mechanical analyzer for their physics lab, a custom keyboard to type faster, desk companions for the office, or personalized gifts for their friends.

With Confetti, more people can experiment, solve their own problems, and make personalized things that otherwise wouldn’t exist. What will you make?

Confetti is designed to make building as easy as possible. You can handle everything all in one conversation. Not only that, community builds make it easy for you to remix and personalize other designs for yourself. Confetti also works with vetted vendors so you can place orders straight on the platform and get them delivered to your doorstep.

Problem
Building custom hardware requires expertise in electronics, mechanical design and manufacturing that most people don't have, making it hard to turn product ideas into reality.

Solution
Confetti's AI guides you through design, component selection and manufacturing preparation, handling the technical complexity so you can focus on your idea.

## The launch story

We’re two UPenn CS dropouts who love building. Between us, we’ve won nine hackathons, conducted research at Stanford and Wolfram Research, and published at ICML. Confetti is the tool we wished we had when we started building hardware ourselves.[Read the story by tianyi](https://whatisnew.today/p/confetti/story)
