## About

Crumb is a menu-bar app for macOS that scans your disk to find what is filling it, then explains what is safe to delete and removes only what you approve. It works in three steps: a read-only scan maps your space across caches, logs, developer data, apps and duplicates; you review each item with its size and purpose, unticking anything you want to keep; then Crumb removes only your approved selections and shows exactly how much space came back.

The app includes six tools beyond free space recovery. Visualize ranks your biggest folders and marks which are safe to remove. Uninstall deletes apps along with their support files, caches and preferences left in the Trash. Duplicates finds identical files anywhere on your Mac and lets you choose which copies to keep. Organize sorts messy folders like Downloads into tidy subfolders by type, showing the plan before any files move. For any folder, you can ask Safe to learn what it is, whether it regenerates, and what breaks if deleted.

Crumb runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel Macs with macOS 12 or later. It stores no data on servers and keeps your files local. The app is free to try with one full cleanup included.

Crumb differs by showing you exactly what's safe to delete before you act. The menu-bar app performs a read-only scan that maps caches, logs, developer data, apps and duplicates, then displays each item's size and whether it regenerates automatically. You untick anything you want to keep, ask "Safe?" about uncertain files, and Crumb removes only what you approved. It also uninstalls apps with their leftover support files, finds duplicates anywhere on your Mac, and organizes messy folders by type before moving anything. Everything runs locally with no account required.

Problem
macOS Storage settings show a full disk but not what is filling it or what is safe to remove. System Data appears as one grey bar with no breakdown.

Solution
Crumb scans your disk to identify caches, logs, build artifacts and duplicates, explains what each is and whether it regenerates, then removes only what you approve.
