## About

DoCube is a local-first personal knowledge base for macOS, iPhone and iPad that lets you collect, read and organize PDFs, ebooks, webpages, notes and videos in one library. Your files stay on your own devices with optional iCloud sync. You can annotate documents with highlights, quotes and notes across PDFs, EPUBs, webpages and video subtitles, then link annotations back to exact locations like specific pages, paragraphs or video timestamps.

Search your library using keywords or semantic search to find both your source materials and the notes you wrote about them. Scanned PDFs become searchable and annotatable through on-device OCR. You can create mixed notes that combine text, source links, PDF excerpts, video clips and handwriting. Quote annotations resurface in home tips and widgets so you revisit key ideas.

DoCube supports collecting material through local import, folder scanning, the share sheet or web clipping. Organize with folders, tags and rule-based projects. Local semantic search and video transcription with Whisper work on-device after downloading models. Some features like optional iCloud sync and online AI services require network access.

DoCube keeps all your files on your devices by default, with optional iCloud sync. It links annotations to exact locations within documents rather than just document covers, and supports local AI features like on-device OCR and Whisper transcription that work offline after setup.

Problem
Researchers and students often collect PDFs and webpages but struggle to find the original context when reviewing highlights later. Notes and annotations scattered across apps make it hard to connect related ideas.

Solution
DoCube stores PDFs, notes, webpages and videos together locally, lets you annotate with links to exact locations, and searches both materials and your thinking in one place.
