## About

Domainee is a custom domains API that lets SaaS products let users connect their own domain with one API call. You make a POST request with the hostname and origin, get back a CNAME, and the customer adds it at their DNS provider. Domainee handles SSL issuance, renewal, and DNS monitoring from that point on.

The product supports two flows: connect mode, where users bring their own domain, and buy mode, where they purchase one through your app via Domainee's registrar integration with 500+ TLDs. Both run on the same API key and billing, so you can offer either or both. Webhooks fire on every DNS state change, and you get apex and subdomain support.

Domainee also ships an MCP server, so AI agents in Cursor or Claude Code can provision domains, debug DNS, and walk customers through setup. The API is REST-based and works from browsers with CORS enabled. Eighteen diagnostic endpoints need no auth; workspace tools require an API key.

Domainee handles SSL renewal forever with no manual intervention. The product targets the 50 to 5,000 hostname range where building custom domains in-house costs 2 to 4 months of engineering time plus ongoing maintenance. It replaces that work with a single API call per domain and automatic DNS health checks.

Problem
Building custom domain support in-house requires months of engineering work and ongoing calendar time to manage SSL renewal, DNS monitoring, and registrar integrations.

Solution
Domainee provides a REST API and MCP server that provisions custom domains, handles SSL renewal forever, and monitors DNS health automatically. One API call connects a domain; Domainee manages the rest.
