## About

Godwit is an open-source email client that works with any IMAP or SMTP account and includes Wit, an AI assistant built in. Wit reads your emails, summarizes them, translates between languages, and drafts replies using the language model you choose. You can extend Godwit with custom plugins and skills to add functionality beyond the core email features.

The interface shows all your inboxes in one place, synced in real time. You can see message summaries, quick replies to pick from and edit, and translations of incoming mail. Remote images are blocked by default to protect your privacy, and you control which senders you trust.

Godwit runs on macOS, Windows and Linux. You can download it directly or install from the Microsoft Store. The project is open source, so you can review the code and contribute to its development.

Godwit is an open-source, AI-native email client that works with any IMAP or SMTP account across macOS, Windows and Linux. Its assistant, Wit, reads, summarizes, translates and drafts emails using the AI model you choose. The client is extensible, meaning you can build custom features on top of it. Unlike proprietary email tools, Godwit's open-source nature lets you inspect and modify the code yourself.

Problem
Email clients often lack AI help for reading, summarizing and drafting. Proprietary tools lock you into their choice of model and limit customization.

Solution
Godwit bundles an AI assistant you can configure with your preferred model, plus an open architecture for plugins and skills to extend it your way.
