## About

NoteOwl is a Mac app that records your microphone and call audio from Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, FaceTime, Webex, Slack huddles or any other app, then transcribes and summarizes everything on your device. No bot joins your call and nothing leaves your Mac. The app labels every line of the transcript with who said it, extracts action items using 22 built-in templates, and tracks commitments so you can see what you owe and what you're owed.

You can search your entire meeting library with plain English questions and get answers that cite the exact passage and jump to that moment in the recording. The app works offline and runs on macOS 26 and later with Apple silicon. Free dictation lets you record your voice into any app with customizable tone, while the Pro version adds meeting notes, speaker recognition, summaries and the ability to ask questions about past meetings.

NoteOwl includes voice notes, transcription, lecture recording, subtitle generation and custom vocabulary. You can export everything you record and choose from templates for 1:1 meetings, stand-ups, sales calls, job interviews, therapy sessions, board meetings, brainstorms, podcasts and more.

NoteOwl runs entirely on your Mac with no bot joining calls and no data leaving your device. It tracks who made which commitments, links them to the exact moment in the recording, and lets you ask questions about past meetings in plain English with citations.

Problem
Meeting notes take time to write by hand, bots joining calls can be distracting or unwelcome, and cloud-based services raise privacy concerns about where your meeting data goes.

Solution
NoteOwl records and transcribes meetings locally on your Mac, labels speakers automatically, generates summaries and action items, and lets you search and ask questions about past meetings without any data leaving your device.
