## About

RuneTranslate is a game translator for Windows and Linux that handles Japanese, Chinese, Korean and 30+ other languages. It reads game scripts from RPG Maker, Ren'Py, Kirikiri, Wolf RPG, Unity and 12 other engines, extracts the text, translates it with your chosen provider, and rebuilds a playable game without modifying your original files.

The tool parses dialogue, menu choices and UI strings into translation units, then freezes markup before sending text to translation providers so tags cannot be mangled or dropped. It uses translation memory to avoid re-translating repeated lines and can route short strings to cheaper providers while sending dialogue elsewhere. Users have translated 350 million lines of game text so far.

RuneTranslate runs entirely on your PC. It detects game engines by folder structure rather than filename, so it works with renamed or repacked releases. The app ships with everything needed to unpack and rebuild games, with no runtime fetches.

Supports 18 game engines including RPG Maker, Ren'Py, Kirikiri, Wolf RPG and Unity. Freezes markup before translation so formatting tags stay intact and in the correct position. Detects engines by folder structure, not filename, so it works with repacked releases. Runs entirely offline on your PC.

Problem
Translating visual novels and RPGs requires extracting text from proprietary game formats, sending it for translation, and rebuilding games without breaking formatting or game logic.

Solution
RuneTranslate automates the full pipeline: it detects the game engine, extracts and parses text, masks formatting tags before translation, sends batches to your chosen provider, and rebuilds the playable game with translations intact.
