## About

StepGrab is a tool that captures screenshots at every click and builds numbered step-by-step guides automatically. It works on Mac and Windows by recording your workflow in a single window or app, then turning each click into a step with an annotated screenshot. The numbered arrows appear exactly where you clicked, and you can customize their color, size and style.

You can export guides as animated GIF, PDF, MP4, HTML, Markdown or mobile video. The free plan includes GIF export and works offline with no account needed. Pro formats add video, printable PDFs, web pages and social media versions. StepGrab lives in your menu bar on Mac or taskbar on Windows, showing a live preview and step count while you record.

People use it for employee onboarding, standard operating procedures, customer support tutorials, software documentation, bug reporting and training manuals. Screenshots and recordings stay on your computer; StepGrab never uploads them.

StepGrab captures menus, dropdowns and popovers in each step. On Mac, it hides desktop icons and widgets during recording. It can show the frame before you clicked. Every click automatically becomes one numbered step with a screenshot, and exports work offline without needing a StepGrab account.

Problem
Creating step-by-step guides and SOPs manually takes time, requires taking screenshots separately and writing descriptions for each step.

Solution
StepGrab records your clicks and automatically generates numbered guides with screenshots. Each click becomes one step with an annotated arrow, ready to export in multiple formats.
