## About

Zest is a Mac utility that brings your development tools into a radial menu. Hold option-space, flick toward a slice, and trigger Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, or any shell command without leaving your project. Each slice runs locally on your Mac with your own API keys, so your code never touches Zest's servers.

You can create custom slices by dropping a .zest.yml file in your repo. Name each slice, pick an agent, write a prompt using variables like {selection}, {screenshot} or {ask}, and commit it so your whole team gets the same wheel. Slices can run in isolated git worktrees on separate branches, letting you review diffs before merging changes back.

Zest works with Xcode projects, Node apps, Python codebases and anything else. The app runs on macOS 26 or later and includes optional Ghostty terminal integration. You pay once for a lifetime license with all 1.x updates included, and can use it on up to 3 Macs.

Zest runs entirely locally on your Mac without servers or subscriptions. It integrates directly with your terminal and code editors by breaking through macOS sandbox restrictions, letting you launch Claude Code, Codex or shell commands from a single keystroke. Team wheels sync through git.

Problem
Developers context-switch between their editor, terminal, and AI tools, losing focus and slowing down shipping.

Solution
Zest puts all your development agents in one radial menu triggered by a single keystroke, keeping your workflow in one place without leaving your project.
