About
magpie is a visual library that collects everything you save from Instagram, X, TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest, Cosmos, Are.na, GitHub and your browser bookmarks in one place. The app uses AI to tag your saves so you can search by what's in them or by colour. You can paste links directly into magpie to add them to your library, or use keyboard shortcuts to save quickly.
Your library can be organized into projects. You can search across all your saves or ask magpie to find references for a specific topic, and it will pick related saves and explain why each one matches. The app displays your saves in different layouts: grid, rows, cells or canvas view, so you can browse and work with your collection in the way that suits you best.
mapie runs on Mac and is free to start.
magpie tags saves by their visual content and colour using AI, letting you search by what's actually in images rather than just metadata. It pulls from eight social platforms and GitHub in one unified library, and can generate curated project collections with explanations for why each save was chosen.
- Problem
- Saves scattered across different apps and platforms are hard to find and organize. Searching by metadata alone misses visual context.
- Solution
- magpie centralizes saves from multiple platforms in one visual library, tags them by content and colour with AI, and lets you search or ask for curated collections.
