About
Rostara is a team balancer and group manager for organizing pickup sports games. You create a group, share a link for players to RSVP, and the app splits everyone into even teams based on private skill ratings. Players rate each other on the skills that matter for your sport, and Rostara uses those ratings to balance sides in one tap, showing you a score for how competitive the match will be.
The app handles RSVPs with automatic waitlists, lets you post games to Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar, and tracks shared expenses with a ledger that admins approve before payments count. For more organized competitions, you can run round-robin leagues or tournaments with fixtures drawn automatically and standings that update as you enter results. Everything works in the browser with no installation needed, and players without an account can still be rated and added to teams.
Rostara combines team balancing with group management in one app. Skill ratings stay private so nobody sees who rated whom, and the app works for players without accounts. It replaces group chats, polls, spreadsheets and bracket makers, and supports 12 languages.
- Problem
- Organizing pickup games means juggling RSVPs across group chats, manually splitting uneven teams, and tracking who paid for shared expenses in spreadsheets.
- Solution
- Rostara centralizes RSVPs, auto-balances teams based on private skill ratings, and keeps a shared ledger for expenses that admins approve before they count.
